   Help | Launching the Ark
So now that you've outed me as a voyeur, tell me how I can watch the action.

To the left of this list is a link conveniently titled Launch the Ark. Click it and you're there!

Ha ha. I meant, once I'm in there, how do I maneouvre?

Hey, we're not mind readers! Once you've launched the Ark, you'll be prompted to choose between Noah and his wife, Joan (get it? Joan of Ark! We crack ourselves right the hell up sometimes). Click the one you want and you're in.

Joan of Ark is even worse than Ark Angel Gabriel.

Yes, well, we're tired dammit. It's hilarious to us.

OK, I'm in. Now what?

You should see a navigational menu to the right of the window where all the action is. By clicking one of the rooms (with handy-dandy symbols telling you what their purpose is), you'll move to that room. You can also just click to the point on the floor where you want to move, and your character will move there. Also, if you click and hold on a character with your mouse button, you'll discover a drop-down menu with all sorts of cool stuff.

What if I want to change what I'm looking at in that room?

Again, the navigational menu will let you do that. By clicking on the arrows, you can rotate the room. By clicking on the buttons marked Close Up, Medium and Long, you can zoom in and out on the action.

What else can I do?

Well, from the navigational menu, you can also read their diaries, vote them off the boat, chat with others, and access the Ark Talk forum.

When does the action happen?

The Ark will be open to the general public for one hour each night, starting at 10pm UK time. Which translates to a whole bunch of other times for other people. There's a whole discussion about sailing times over in the Ark Talk forum.

Do I need any special software to view the action?

Yes. You'll need Macromedia's Shockwave plug-in. It's available for free at Macromedia's download page.

Anything else I should know about the technical requirements?

It's a rather resource-intensive program. There are a number of small components which have to be downloaded to your computer in order to view and move around in the Ark. We've found that it generally takes about 10 minutes to download all of the components, so don't get impatient if it doesn't appear immediately.
